Being a master of one or a jack-of-all-trades in today’s world does not bring about success if you are unable to work as part of a team. The importance of teamwork cannot be stressed enough!
However, it’s hard to get a group of individuals to work together smoothly. Don’t you agree?
Teamwork doesn’t mean everybody doing the same thing or everybody being able to do each other’s jobs. It’s more a means to a synergistic way of working, where the sum is greater than the parts. Properly managed, teamwork maximizes strengths, bringing out the best in each team member, a key theme on this site. These specific, possibly unique individual strengths are then complimented by the strengths of others, or of the team as a unit.
In the past weeks, I realised how important it is to coordinate with other members of the team. We were facing issues in our team it was just because people were holding different opinions and this resulted in lack of coordination amongst us. Everytime we meet up but the progress of work was not showing up. I was stressing out about the teamwork. Then I realised we cannot succeed individually anyhow we have to work together to get the best out.
